Palak Rice(Spinach rice)



Palak Rice (Spinach Rice)



Now a days people do not have time to cook healthy food, eating out could be nice for some days, t home cooked food is a blessing, I love hot food served on plate.

For people who love cooing and wants to try varieties, here is one...........
You need a bunch of  spinach for 2 servings, cleaned properly

First method

Bunch of Spinach
One small tomato
2 teaspoons garam masala
2 Teaspoons of tamarind paste
Green chilles 2 nos
Ghee or oil of a table spoon
RICE 250 gms it could be Basmathi or normal
Salt to taste 

Second Method

Bunch of Spinach
One small tomato
2 teaspoons garam masala
2 Teaspoons of tamarind paste
One onion
1/2 tablespoon garlic paste.
Green chilles 2 nos
Ghee or oil of a table spoon
RICE 250 gms it could be Basmathi or normal
Salt to taste 

How to make it:

Keep the rice ready after washing. If you are using basmathi wash and soak it for 10 minutes, if it is normal no need to soak.

After washing Spinach grind it with tomato, green chilles.
In a pressure cooker add oil, add the paste and add rice, garam masala and salt.
Add 1:2 rice:water 
saute it,  pressure cook for 3 to four whistle and serve hot.

The second method is the same but in a pressure cooker after adding oil add onion and garlic paste. after it is done then follow the same steps.



Rice Ganji (Rice porridge)

My anytime favorite is this one, simple one which could be easily prepared and can have hot with pickle or any kind of chutney.

All you need is 250 gms of rice for 2 to 3 servings.
Coconut milk or coconut , grind to thin consistency.
Salt to taste Ghee to garnish.

Take a pressure cooker add rice, coconut milk and salt.
Pressure cook rice adding 1:3 water.
After 4 to 5 whistle, switch it off let it cool and serve it with garnished ghee on it.
Enjoy as breakfast or lunch.......it's yummy 

Potato with thyme




Potato with thyme is another yummy dry, kids will like the flavor of thyme.
All you need is 3 large potatoes for 3 servings with roties 
1/2 table spoon of thyme.
1 tablespoon of butter or oil 
salt to taste
we get fresh thyme in some shops.
I have used Snapin thyme. which we get to buy in many company names.
cut potatoes into slices or any shape
Take a kadai add oil, put sliced  potatoes 
cook potatoes.
Once potatoes are almost done add thyme and salt
saute for few minutes and leave it for 5 minutes.
Remove from the stove and Serve it hot
